Cruisin’ the Coast Turns 30

The Mississippi Gulf Coast is about to fill with chrome, candy paint, and oldies. Cruisin’ the Coast, billed as America’s Largest Block Party, celebrates its 30th anniversary October 4-11, 2026.

WHERE TO GO. Cruise Central at Jones Park in Gulfport is the registration hub. The Vicari Auto Auction and swap meet are at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi. Cruise-ins with bands run in Bay St. Louis, Pass Christian, Gulfport, D’Iberville, Ocean Springs, and Pascagoula.

WHAT’S ON. Highlights on the official schedule include autocross at Scarlet Pearl Casino, the Gulf Coast Nationals at Gulfport Dragway, a flame-throwing competition at IP Casino Resort Spa, and a Salute to Our Veterans at Cruise Central. Several automotive TV personalities are also on the lineup.

GOOD TO KNOW. Watching is free. If you want to cruise your own ride, on-site registration is open at Cruise Central during the event. Highway 90 gets busy, so plan extra time and consider parking away from the beach. October sun on the Gulf is still strong, so bring water.

It started in 1996 with 374 cars and has grown to more than 10,000 registered vehicles in recent years. Read the full history and visitor tips on our Cruisin’ the Coast page.
